User Reviews about Samsung UN46C6500 46-Inch 120 Hz 1080p LED HDTV (Black)

I am very happy with the picture quality of this TV. This is my first LCD TV and it's a great experience watching this. Doesn't have the latest bells and whistles like 3D. But a great one for the price you pay.
Pros:
1. Good picture quality
2. Samsung apps works well and have a wide selection of services compared to other manufacturers
3. Easy to setup
4. Lot of inputs
5. Very reasonable price ( I got it in a promotion for ~$1100)
6. Thin and light weight

Cons:
1. Bad sound quality - This is a common problem for very thin TVs
2. The stand doesn't have any heigh adjustment
3. Some reflection on the screen. This is a very reflective screen and if you are concerned about that, this may not be the TV for you.
4. No Wifi adapter comes with the tv and you can only use a Samsung adapter that cost ~$80! -- Great TV for the price!
This is our very first HDTV and we could not be happier with this product. My family is very impressed with the quality of the picture and sound. It was pretty easy to set up and use. We have it paired with a Samsung home theater system with wireless rear speakers. We watched the new Robin Hood movie (Blu Ray) the other night and it was like being in the movie theater. This is a first rate product. I would recommend it to anyone. -- Terrific HDTV
I bought my TV from Best Buy. I'm not an expert and this is my first HD TV but the picture is great! And the sound is just as good as or better than my old TV. I don't know why everyone comments on the sound being sub par --it sounds great to me.

One limitation I found is there is only room for one standard input on the back. I wanted to hook up an old VCR and a DVD player but there's only room for one of them unless they're HDMI capable (which mine aren't). Another thing that bothers me is that the screen leans forward just a little. I don't know if it's a feature or if it's not installed correctly. But it's hardly noticeable and I wouldn't even have noticed if I hadn't been looking so closely.

For you Best Buyers: I was talked into buying a $70 four-foot HDMI cable because it was necessary for a great picture. Turned out that my cable provider, Bright House Networks, provides one with their Digital Box for free. Now I have a useless HDMI cable. And now I see that you can buy the same cable on Amazon for $10!

But overall I am very happy with the TV. I watch more TV than ever! :)

-- Great TV
Wow!! Now that's a phenomenal picture!!

Picture is CRISP! Black is beautifully DEEP! The picture literally looks better than in the store.

The only negative is that the sound sucks. It's audible; it just sucks. No TV this thin will have decent audio. External audio source is HIGHLY recommended.

Knowledgeable guy at Best Buy told me not to get the 240hz as the human brain can't recognize anything over 120hz, and not to get 3D now as it looks like a cheesy pop-up book and to wait a couple of years for the 3D technology to develop. I looked at Best Buy's 3d demo and I agree.

-- Phenomenal!!
There are tons of reviews on the picture quality of this TV (Which is pretty good) so I wanted to focus on the Samsung Apps and internet@Tv which is the main reason I bought this TV. I don't watch much TV so I do not have cable or DirectTV but I do get about 14 channels over the air which is fine for me. I spend a fair amount of time online though so when I got everything hooked up the first thing I did was start messing with the Samsung apps. I used a wired connection and I had no problems getting online. When you first connect it downloads all the Samsung apps and updates the TV. After that you have to create an account at [...] and sign in on your TV. It's extremely clunky having to type in your username and password and I spent about an hour trying to get it connected. Every time I entered my username and password on the TV it would say it was invalid. Once I realized I had to register the physical TV with Samsung (Write down your serial number before you put it on the wall) it connected no problem. It doesn't say that anywhere on the Samsung site which was kind of frustrating. After you get the TV registered you can use the Samsung apps. The most of the apps themselves are very disappointing. The AP News ticker is a cool idea and it works but it's kind of pointless. Google maps is kind of clunky to use and you can't search on it. The weather is pointless for me since you have to select from a list of cities and mine wasn't on there. Then there's Pandora and Netflix. These apps were the reason I bought the TV and they don't disappoint. With netflix the quality is awesome and the controls are intuitive. You add your movie into the instant queue from a computer (No browsing netflix from your TV which is kind of nice because typing would is frustrating on a remote) and when you get to your TV you just press play. I watched a couple streaming "HD" movies (streaming movies aren't close to bit rates of normal HD DVDs) and it looked extremely good. Pandora is awesome as well. It ties into your pandora account and you just fire up the app and hit play. As other reviews state the sound quality of this TV isn't the best but it's not terrible. It feels like Samsung is trying to create a iPhone or Android type market place but they have a LONG ways to go. As it stands right now there are maybe 30 apps and most of them are pretty pointless. Hopefully they can develop this technology even more. A browser on the TV would be the ultimate. So in closing if you're looking for a thin LED TV with a good picture and want to stream netflix and pandora at a reasonable price this TV is yours. -- Review of online services

I am an avid videophile who cares a lot about TV quality. During the picture tube days, I owned three different Sony XBR sets -- which were the best that I could get. A few years back, I got a high quality Samsung LCD -- which kept me happy. This Samsung UN46C6800 surpasses them all.

What makes the difference for me is the crispness of the image. There is a sharp definition between the blacks and other colors on the set, which was not evident in the LCD set. I assume that this is because of the local dimming features of the LEDs. It is good enough that I am glad that I did not settle for the 6500 or 6300 version.

While the default settings are good, I did tune the set somewhat. I found it necessary to turn off the automotion feature in order to eliminate a "soap opera" look. I also went to the movie setting to turn down the contrast. But, otherwise, great.

Another big plus is that the screen absorbs ambient light. My room can be bright during the day. I used to have problems with images washing out. But, not with this set. It is great.

I do wish that they selected better speakers. Sound quality is good -- but only good. It could be better.

In conclusion, every time I sit down to watch this TV, I still say "oh, wow" to myself. I recommend the set highly. -- Amazing set -- a videophile perspective
This TV is great. I'm coming from an older LG LCD tv, and this new Samsung blows it away. The picture is amazing. Setup was super easy, and the internet apps worked perfectly. My only complain would be the sound is pretty bad, but most LCD/LED/plasma tvs don't have great sound in the first place. -- AWESOME JAWESOME
I replaced an HD TV that was only three years old with this Samsung UN46C6800 46-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LED HDTV. What a pleasant surprise when I hooked it up via HDMI to my TiVo. The picture quality blew me away. The depth of field is amazing. Not 3-D but surprisingly near real life. Those shows that are developed in HD are outstanding when viewed on this Samsung. My only comment is to the make-up people, you must do a better job on the actors, their faces are now extremely detailed and the color stands out. -- Great Picture
Did my homework. Best value for the $ and picture. Searched and searched -not interested in 3-D but wanted APPS. I'm listening to Pandora as I write... All works great. I'm an over 50, still trying to understand the technology, but greatfull for children who get it. Picture is AWESOME. Sound lacks bass, but clear as a bell and will upgrade to 5.1. No tech advice upon delivery, but it's rural NH and don't mind. Look forward to woodstove, movies and my new Samsung. Oh yeah...

Satisfied. -- Wow.
Great TV! Super slim, light, great picture. Other comments were negative on the sound quality - I find it more than adequate. Internet TV apps are less than stellar - I have mine connected via wireless. Takes way too long for apps to open and load. When using something like Pandora - it takes up to a minute to load the song and start playing! When I checked my connection speed it was running over 4Mbps...

Overall a great TV - wouldn't spend the extra $$$ for the apps functionality - just get a PS3/blueray/or something similar to run web.

User Reviews about Samsung UN55C7000 55-Inch 1080p 240 Hz 3D LED HDTV (Black)

I spent a lot of time reading on-line reviews of this TV and its little brother the 46 inch model before going to a store. I was mostly interested in the downloadable apps and the picture quality. 3D wasn't a primary concern.
I was very concerned as to how glare would affect the picture as I have a south-facing wall of glass behind the viewer that is a real issue in the winter when the sun is low and we are watching football. I had a second generation plasma that was 8 years old and the glare could be enough to force us to TIVO the games and watch them at night.

Well, we bought the 55 inch model and wow, what a picture. It is significantly better than the plasma that we had before. Individual blades of grass stand out perfectly. When the screen is black, the set is a mirror and the glare is significant, but once a non-black picture comes on, the set is capable of reducing the glare to only a very minor issue. This was really beyond what we had hoped for.

We were pleased to find out that the set automatically detected DVDs in our SONY player and switched to the DVD source when one starts to play. My wife is more than a bit technophobic, so less remote fiddling is good.

The apps/widgets are very nice. You get both the Samsung apps and Yahoo apps, so there is quite a variety.

But, and I do mean a big BUT, these are not the coolest thing on the set. Samsung has included a full implementation of DLNA, I think for the first time this year. What is DLNA and what does it matter? It is a fancy set of intials (Digital Living Network Alliance, if it matters) that are a standard for devices accesing data on other computers.
In my house I have a network device that I store videos and music on for the house. I had a dedicated Media Center computer next to my TV to play movies from this and the TV was essentially a display for the computer. Now, the TV gets the files all by itself and the computer is no longer necessary. Essentially, the TV can show a movie on another computer by itself.
Other sets have been able to have PCs play the movie on them using an early version of DLNA, but now you can use your remote to play movies without messing with the computer. This may sound techy, but it is really nice and my wife loves it. Home movies and stored DVDs can be pulled up with just a couple clicks of the remote.

The DLNA was easy to set up. You can download and run a program from Samsung on a Windows machine or run any other DLNA server program on your mac, LINUX or whatever computer. Then you go to the TV and it automatically finds the computer(s) and shows the files. I have a Netgear NAS and it had its own DLNA program that worked first try.

All in all, this is as good of a TV as I could have hoped for. -- Great TV, really great feature nobody mentions!
big cloud issue when play dark movies.
Internet is kinda useless. The Blu-ray player can do this work as well.
The corners have some light leaking issues
-- Should be cheaper for the quality of the TV
ok so this tv is the best tv ive ever seen in my life..... im sure that a hardcore tv nut might have something different to say but so far i can find no fault with the tv i gave it 3 stars for sound because i havent used the sound as i have surround sound i bought this tv "Used" from amazon and it was brand new when i got it it still have the plastic sticky stuff on the edges and it looked absolutly pristine i wont need another tv for years to come thank you samsung -- Epic TV
I like the Samsung in general. The sound quality is not great - no room for room-facing speakers. I haven't used all the features yet (like the 3d), just got it installed - which was not easy. The screen really should NOT be touched. Even your fingertip will leave a mark and the cleaner sold at Frye's in Auburn, WA was $20.00. Samsung recommends water only, but I have a friend who damaged a flat screen trying to clean it, so be careful. I can't get the remote working well, sometimes the TV comes on and not the cable and vice versa. There must be a fix for that, but I don't know about it yet. We have some tiling in the picture every time we watch. We are shopping for a sound bar. This was our first big purchase through Amazon and the process and service was flawless. I would recommend Amazon to anyone and not just for books. We will be buying a sound bar from Amazon. Love them. -- It's a good TV, sound not so - Amazon was WONDERFUL!
